Aktori i “Empire”, Jussie Smollett, u sulmua mëngjesin e së martës dhe policia e quan një krim të nisur nga urrejtja.

Smollett u sulmua nga dy persona, të cilët po bënin thirrje me zë të lartë për urrejtje racore dhe kundër homoseksualëve. Policia e Çikagos bën me dije se ata derdhën një substancë kimike ndaj viktimës.

Një nga sulmuesit gjithashtu i lidhi një litar rreth qafës, ndërsa më pas u larguan të dy nga vendi i ngjarjes.

Smollett u dërgua në spital dhe sipas websitet TMZ mësohet se është në gjendje të mirë shëndetësore .

Ngjarja ndodhi rreth lagjes së tij, ndërsa nuk është siguruar asnjë imazh apo video nga momenti i sulmit.

Aktori mësohet se ishte i tronditur, por edhe i inatosur që ndodhi një sulm i tillë. Smollett mësohet se u përpoq që të mbrohej, duke i kundërsulmuar.

Aktori është pjesë e serialit “Empire” që nga viti 2015, ai luan rolin e Jamal, një këngëtari të suksesshëm, i cili është homoseksual. Smollett e ka pranuar këtë edhe në jetën e tij reale.

Lidhur me ngjarjen reaguan të gjithë të famshmit, të cilët dënuan ashpër sulmin e bërë kundër tij.

It’s indisputable that one of Jussie’s purpose-gifts is the ability to unify through love. It’s who he is. It’s what he does. His blazon of light can never – and will never – be diminished, quelled or subdued. This despicable act only shamefully reveals how deeply the diseases of hatred, inequality, racism and discrimination continue to course through our country’s veins. It’s not enough to just share about the unconscionable, heinous and deplorable acts birthed by them – we must shoulder the responsibility and honor of loving one another like never before. We MUST.
